Philadelphia’s Award-Winning Ophthalmic And Oculoplastic Practice

Our Mission: To Provide All Patients And Their Families With The Best Possible Ophthalmic And Oculoplastic Care

As members of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, we are a practice of board-certified ophthalmologists sub-specializing in plastic surgery of the eyelids, lacrimal system, and orbit. We have cared for patients in the greater Philadelphia and Delaware Valley areas for many years, working out of Wills Eye Hospital and Lankenau Hospital, as well as serving many sites in New Jersey.

The faculty within our Oculoplastics Practice performs a wide range of both functional and cosmetic surgeries and procedures. To name a few, this includes the correction of eyelid problems such as ptosis (droopy eyelid), lid retraction, ectropion and entropion. We remove eyelid and skin cancers and reconstruct the resultant defects. We perform lacrimal surgeries that may be needed for ailments such as tearing, infections, traumas, and blocked and infected tear ducts. Our orbital surgeries range from repairing orbital fractures to reconstructing sockets, removing tumors, draining infections, and decompressing thyroid eye disease. Our cosmetic services include varied surgeries (including blepharoplasties) as well as nonsurgical measures including chemical peels, BOTOX® injections, Thermage® treatments, filler injections, and many more.

For a more comprehensive list of our offered surgeries and services please review the appropriate links on our website, or simply call to schedule a consultation. 👨‍⚕️ Not only can the asymmetry of 1-sided ptosis (droopy upper eyelid) be visually problematic by blocking the vision of only one eye, and not only can it be cosmetically upsetting by negatively affecting your appearance, but it can also be very difficult to treat. The eyelids work together through the brain, so raising one without changing the other is a difficult task and the ultimate goal. This wonderful patient had her left upper eyelid raised by Dr. Rabinowitz during a 30-minute office surgery. At only 2 weeks out she's over the moon!

👨‍⚕️Dr. Rabinowitz’s surgical goal, whether it’s a functional or a cosmetic surgery, is a natural, healthy, rejuvenated, authentic look!

This woman was having trouble seeing out of her left eye because that lid was drooping. She was also bothered by the heavy skin on both upper lids. It made her look tired and feel older. Dr. Rabinowitz performed left upper eyelid ptosis surgery and small upper blepharoplasties for her. She now looks how she feels - energetic, youthful, and confident!

🙏 When eyelids are this severely droopy not only do they make you look older and tired, but they block your vision and negatively effect your ability to function. This woman couldn’t even see past her lids!

Dr. Michael Rabinowitz @rabinowitzphillyeyeplastics performed a bilateral upper eyelid ptosis surgery and cosmetic skin pinch for this wonderful patient during a same-day 1 hour surgery. She is only 3 weeks out and still a bit swollen, but already her transformation is evident. She is ecstatic with her gorgeous, natural, and life-changing result!
